Stewpot
Community Services
Each year, Stewpot Community Services provides
thousands of men, women, and children hot meals, groceries,
clothing, shelter, childcare, mentoring, and other programs
to nurture them and help them get back on their feet. The
volunteers and staff are people of faith committed to helping
a needy brother or sister. Stewpot, which began as a simple
soup kitchen in 1981, has developed into an organization
offering 17 services _ from shelter, to clothing, to counseling,
to children's programs. For many years Trustmark associates
have formed serving teams, volunteering throughout the
year at the soup kitchen. The annual Trustmark Red
Beans and Rice Festival, pictured here is a fundraiser
for Stewpot.
