Which is right for you?

We offer a variety of checking accounts, suited to different lifestyles and customer preferences. Before you select a particular account, consider what your average monthly balance is likely to be and what other services and conveniences you may prefer.

Each of the following accounts is available with a free Trustmark Express ATM (automated teller machine) card or free ExpressCheck debit card and free TrustTouchWeb internet banking service. You can reorder your checks online. All depositors are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Here is a list of fees that may apply to your checking account.

CheckMate is a package of services that can be added to any personal checking account for an additional monthly fee. CheckMate will be available at a discount of $4.00 to Umbrella, Prime of Life, Prime of Life Preferred, and Relationship Checking customers. A $5.00 fee will apply for the benefits on all other personal checking account types.

Prime of Life Checking – This value-packed account is for customers ages 50 and above. The minimum opening balance is $100, and the minimum balance to avoid a monthly service fee of $7.50 is $500.

Relationship Checking – This interest-bearing account is designed to reward loyal customers for balances maintained in a variety of deposit or loan products by providing value-added benefits. The minimum opening balance is $100, and the minimum balance to avoid a monthly service fee of $20 is $25,000 in combined minimum daily deposit and/or outstanding loan balances.

  • Earns a higher interest rate based upon balance tiers

Interest Checking – An account for customers who want to earn interest on their checking account while having maximum availability.

  • Minimum opening balance: $1,000
  • Pays interest on minimum balance of $1,000
  • No service charge on balance of $1,000 or more; $9.00 service charge if minimum balance falls below $1,000 during the month
  • 30 free deposit items per month ($.075 charge for each item deposited over 30 per statement period)
  • Free Trustmark Express ATM card or ExpressCheck debit card
  • Detailed monthly statement with imaged checks

HighYield Checking – HighYield Checking is a personal transaction account allowing customers the option to write unlimited checks and keep funds liquid while earning a favorable interest rate based on their balance.

  • Minimum opening balance: $5,000
  • $10.00 monthly service charge waived with a balance of $5,000 or more
  • Pays interest according to balance tiers at a competitive rate (subject to change daily)
  • Detailed monthly statement with imaged checks

Positively Free Checking– Positively Free Checking is a personal checking account with no minimum balance requirement and no monthly service fee.

  • Unlimited check-writing and debit card transactions
  • No minimum balance requirement
  • Minimum opening balance: $50
  • No monthly service charge
  • Monthly statement listing cancelled checks; imaged statement available for a monthly fee of $2

Health Savings Account - This interest-bearing checking account is available for those individuals who participate in a high-deductible health insurance plan and allows for tax-free distributions to pay for qualified medical expenses. Health Savings Account balances automatically roll from year to year.

  • Minimum opening balance: $100
  • One-time set-up fee of $20
  • $4 monthly service charge waived with a minimum balance of $1,000 or more
  • 5 free checks per month ($1 per check written over 5 per statement period); unlimited debit card access
  • Interest earned on daily minimum balance of $1,000 or more
  • Sole ownership only
  • Monthly imaged statement

Estate Account – Any of the above types of accounts (except Prime of Life, Prime of Life Preferred and Umbrella Checking account). Opened under the deceased person's Social Security number, with death certificate and letter of administration or testamentary papers; available to the executor, executrix or administrator of the deceased person's estate; includes all benefits and restrictions of the type of account chosen.

ExpressCheck Debit Card – You'll get the best of both worlds with Trustmark's ExpressCheck debit card. Using your ExpressCheck debit card is as easy as using a credit card (it even looks like one), except your purchases are drawn from your checking account – just as if you have written checks. The ExpressCheck debit card also doubles as an ATM card by replacing the Trustmark Express card.
