Overview

The purpose of this job is to coordinate the repossession process of personal property, perform field inspections on the repossessed property and coordinate sale of collateral.

Responsibilities:
  • Accurately assign past due loans for repossession or foreclosure
  • Coordinate sale of repossessed collateral
  • Perform field inspections on repossessions.
  • Monitor payments on assigned repossessions or foreclosures.
  • Handle redemptions
  • Maintain repossession file.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the current market prices of vehicles.
  • Assist with monthly reporting of repossessed inventory.
  • Authorize repairs on repossessed collateral.
  • Approve bid prices.
  • Prepare units for sale โ€“ repossession lot to clean up shop and auction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned including working on specialty work queues and assisting with inbound calls when needed
Qualifications
  • Junior college/two-year college training or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years collection experience involving collateral
  • Knowledge and understanding of collection industry standards and practice including a general knowledge of privacy and fair debt collection regulations, bankruptcy, repossession, including replevins, foreclosure and other consumer credit laws affecting collection.
  • Knowledge of loan documentation including title, lien requirements and renewals
  • Knowledge of Credit bureau information and other sources of consumer reporting
  • Knowledge of repossession process including remarketing of personal property
  • Computer skills
  • Communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Organizational skills
