Overview

The copywriter will creatively translate concepts into written words in a fresh, compelling, relevant, clear, concise, and consistent manner for effective messaging to specific target audiences and to drive action.

Responsibilities:
  • Write, proofread, and edit copy to support the companyโ€™s communications and marketing objectives (primarily external) ensuring brand voice and tone are maintained across all mediums and that calls to action are clear, strong, and appropriate from a business perspective.
    • Includes print, website, social media, email messages, press releases, marketing collateral, blogs, customer letters and notices, scripts, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members on all aspects of content required for various communication materials, from concept development to delivery of final product.
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with subject matter experts across all lines of business and with external vendors utilized by Trustmark for communications and marketing efforts; have general knowledge and understanding of the companyโ€™s products and services.
  • Conduct research to identify relevant information and formulate ideas to support writing copy.
  • Create plans, project timelines and schedules for content.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by the Corporate Communications Manager or Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing, which may include:
    • Mergers and acquisitions communications
    • System conversions communications
    • Website content
    • Line of Business/Product campaigns
Qualifications
  • Four-year college degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent work experience
  • 2 โ€“ 4 years of experience in content marketing or copywriting
  • Advanced knowledge in word usage, grammar, sentence structure and paragraphing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
  • Ability to communicate effectively and coherently for all levels of associates, strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate complex topics into easily understood content
  • Ability to write in formal and conversational tones while maintaining brand integrity
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to be flexible in all situations
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated; must be able to work independently without close supervision
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Highly developed organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new and changing environments
