Overview

Position is responsible for calculating the accounting for Trustmark’s bank owned life insurance (BOLI), Executive Benefit Plans [the Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plan (NQDC), the Supplemental Executive & Director Retirement Plan (SERP), the Stock Compensation Plan (SICP) and the Defined Benefit Retirement Plans (DBP)], and some general benefit plans.

 

**This position may be filled as a Level I or II based on qualifications and experience**

 

Responsibilities:
  • Complete monthly and quarterly general ledger reconciliations for benefit plans, noting that entries are reasonable and adjustments timely and accurate
  • Prepare Executive Benefit Plan disclosures for the proxy, 10K and 10Q
  • Coordinate the annual enrollment process, review of participant elections and deferral amounts for the NQDC
  • Coordinate the process of granting and vesting of restricted stock awards under the SICP including determination of eligibility for annual grant and approval documentation needed by Board and Committee of the Board
  • Draft and coordinate the communications/mailings to directors and associates regarding matters related to the Executive Benefit Plans
  • Correspond with external consultants and service providers regarding matters related to the Executive Benefit Plans.
  • Draft and review documentation provided to the Human Resources Committee of the Board for Executive Benefits, and other committees as needed
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal partners
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Level II additional responsibilities:

  • Develop monthly financial and accounting processes, reporting and analysis for executive benefits
  • Partner with payroll to provide pay line entries and ensure entries are recorded correctly
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and provide to leadership team on an as needed basis

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or concentration in Accounting
  • 2+ years of prior general accounting experience
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data, create, and track metrics and to present effectively to senior management
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft skills including Excel (pivot tables, v-look ups, complex formulas)
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong team player and strong relationship builder
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to map out timelines and planning calendars for various projects.

 Level II additional qualifications required:

  • 2+ years of experience working with BOLI, NQDC, SICP, and SERP plans
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills
