Overview

This position will be responsible for creating and updating records within the Trustmark Customer Information System and/or the Trustmark deposit system. In addition, they will communicate with front line and department associates both directly and indirectly to perfect the data collected and entered into the customer system. This will include citing associates who do not collect and record the required information to meet oversight requirements. The information entered into these systems is used to service customers and assure Trustmark meets regulatory requirements such as BSA, US Patriot Act, Compliance and Bank policy. The Customer Information Specialist I is responsible for the most basic of this information and is an entry level position.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive and index documents for customer records by preparing documents for scanning, scanning documents, verifying quality of digital images, and manually filing paper documents.
  • Review index work items to identify specific types and classifications of documents to allow accurate retrieval.
  • Determine when work items cannot be processed and reject documents back to originator with appropriate communication.
  • Review new submissions of documents to perform data entry and determine indexing and scrubbing of items.
  • Review and determine document quality by verifying and validating to perfect image; make changes as needed to index reference (i.e. name of documents, merge and separate pages of documents).
  • Image and store images according to organization guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust software/equipment when necessary.
  • Verify and process address changes for customer records/accounts on an hourly basis as assigned.
  • Enter and remove account status codes.
  • Complete different types of work items in various electronic queues.
  • Determine when necessary to cite exceptions for work items.
  • Manage daily work activities or projects to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Provide support for internal associates related to CIS and deposit account function.
  • Communicate with Branch/Retail Associates and other departments as needed to resolve issues.
  • Cross train in other areas to assist as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize daily duties/responsibilities
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and little supervision but also work in, and contribute to, a team environment
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus
  • Ability to retain information and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Good communication skills with the ability to learn quickly, meet strict deadlines
  • People oriented with customer focus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of banking documents

           Preferred:

  • Prior background in data entry/operations/customer service
  • Working knowledge of bank or deposit operations processes and functions
  • Experience adhering to policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and instructions
  • Advanced computer skills and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
