Overview

The purpose of this job is to facilitate, deliver and develop dynamic, high-quality classroom and web-based training with an emphasis in training branch associates on systems, polices, procedures, processes, and sales techniques. This individual will develop creative classroom activities using various techniques to enhance the associate’s educational experience and reinforce major course objectives. Will work with the management team and associates in their area of responsibility to understand training/development needs. 

 

This position may be filled as a Level I or II.  Additional responsibilities and qualifications apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate high-quality training programs and solutions by utilizing varying training methods and techniques and teach multiple curricula across a variety of business units.
  • Stay updated on any changes in policies and procedures and ensure all training materials are updated.
  • Continuously review, evaluate and update existing and proposed programs to ensure content is relevant and timely
  • Consult with and prepare content for approval by the Retail Administration team for ongoing training needs
  • Evaluate and provide feedback to management on associate’s skill level while attending class, along with any needs for improvement
  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with stakeholders, such as Human Resources partners, Retail Administration and other department leaders, and subject-matter experts
  • Manage the information placed into LMS regarding the classes being conducted
  • Learn to develop and write high-quality training programs, solutions, and materials by utilizing varying development methods and techniques.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Level II additional responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality training programs and solutions by utilizing varying development methods and techniques.
  • Collaborate with an eLearning Designer to develop content for online training courses.
  • Mentor and coach other trainers as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree and one (1) year corporate training experience or comparable experience in public speaking, meeting facilitation, teaching, mentoring/coaching in a branch setting, etc. and two (2) years retail branch experience (teller and platform skills)

OR

Must have two (2) years corporate training experience or comparable experience in public speaking, meeting facilitation, teaching, mentoring/coaching in a branch setting, etc. and three (3) years retail branch experience (teller and platform skills)

  • Familiar with adult learning theory and instructional design
  • Proven ability to adapt training curriculum based on associates’ needs
  • Knowledge of virtual classroom training methods
  • Ability to facilitate training using multiple delivery methods (in-person and virtual) using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, or lectures
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to innovate and be a positive agent for change
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team setting
  • Adaptable enough to thrive in in a fast-paced and continually changing environment
  • Possess creativity and the ability to think outside the box
  • Retail branch experience (teller and platform skills) with knowledge of branch sales practices, policies, procedures, and systems
  • Proficient PC skills (specifically Microsoft Word and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in communication and collaboration applications (such as Teams, and webinar applications)
  • Must be able to travel to offices/branches within area of responsibility
  • Lending and or underwriting experience (small business and consumer) preferred
  • Branch leadership experience preferred 
  • Training certifications preferred
  • Experience specifically with Microsoft Teams or other web-based training platforms preferred

Level II additional qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree and two (2) years corporate training and development experience in the banking and finance field or four (4) years retail branch experience (teller and platform skills)OR       Minimum of four (4) years corporate training and development experience in the banking and finance field or 5 (five) years retail branch experience (teller and platform skills)
  • Knowledge and proven application of adult learning theory and instructional design theory
  • Classroom management skills including organization, time management, recognizing learner accomplishments, and correcting inappropriate behavior
  • Experience with online class development software such as Storyline, Rise, Replay, Captivate, PowToon, etc. preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:  Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
